Here's a new copper piece i'm working on. I'm enjoying the effect of the mica powders and layered textures. The centre of the piece is a new weave i'm experimenting with. A great exchange of information with fellow sculptors, through the Metal Arts Guild of Canada, and with local Denman Artists recently started. Wonderful to be able to share our knowledge with one another. I find it very inspiring.

I've been experimenting lately with metallic paints and mica powder on copper sheet. I've coloured copper in the past with heat & patinas but the variation of colour achieved left me desiring a wider colour spectrum. The paints with mica are very vibrant and are getting closer to the effect I was looking for. I'm layering the work with my photographs and playing around with textures and new weaving techniques. Images to follow soon.
